TXbrewing will likely be closing too, prob by the end of 2022. He is full on a wholesale shop to breweries and doesn't see why he needs to waste so much time on so little profit from a single homebrew sale.

Anyone interested in buying one of these? I have one that I've used for 6 months and recently switched to a plate chiller. My tap water is nowhere near cold enough to use this thing effectively.

I've been baking my plate chiller for several years... probably 4 or so. I bake at 350 for an hour. Prior to use, I rinse with iodophor to clean all the ash out. I've never had an issues with baking.

My brew system sits outside, year round, granted it is all steel, stainless. If you've got plastic, it'll get brittle with heat cycles, and sun exposure, but humidity won't really affect it unless you don't clean well....

I have one of these and it works great. I got a full O2 bottle at a local welding shop for $65, and I bet I've used less than 5% of it over the last 30 brews.

I agree, get a real hole saw. It might take longer and be more expensive but it will make a near perfect circle through the sill plate.

The universal poppets that I ordered from Northern brewer aren't quite right. In some cases, I've had to cut the spring down 1 coil to get a disconnect to lock in place. Not ideal, but it works. Anyone have a line on the differences between the three different styles mentioned above?
