Hi everyone quick question on my first experience with the yeast stated in the title.
I made a 2 l starter at 1.040 pithced the yeast and put on a magnetic stirplate. 12 hour later came to look at it and been a bit troubled since.
While spinning the liquid has littlte white clumps 1mm...
ooOOOhhHH its a top cropper for sure it would need at least 4 feet of head space ok so no infection but alot of cleaning up ;)
Should i give it a shake to drop the krausen back in the beer or leave it be....

than you for your answer and yes it was ambient did not think the fermenting would take it a 5 degrees above

even so nortwest ale says 65-75 so i was stillgood with my 68 but the real answer that i wanted was the edit in your post thank you :rockin:

Hi i am new to homebrewing and made a mistake.
I did not calculate my biab effiency properly and got a bigger beer than anticipated instead of 65% got a 79%
So i pitched to low not having anticipated enough yeast
Now I have a heavy beer in the bottles and all yeast seemed to have been...
well just secondary tonight and abv reading gimme 84 percent attenuation for 7.08% beer too bad for a light summer beer at 5.5%
gonna retry with less grain and the right amount of yeast
I BIABed a beer 2 days ago.
I was aiming 65% to 70% efficency at around 5.5% abv.
Darn i hit 88% at an estimated 6.98%.
