    Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Ginger Ale - 3rd place 2009 HBT BJCP Comp

    Just had the first glass of this from the keg. Wow. Very nice. Brewed with original all grain recipe, maybe a tad more ginger when kegging. Nice ginger nose, and mild bite, but really refreshing with honey coming though. Won't last long with my friends around. Yay.

    Thanks, guys. Good ideas to check out. Water may be off, as well as fermentation temps and next time it'll be a big fat yeast starter for sure. Water was city water but filtered, and I added gypsum to the boil. yeast was Safale 05. Fermented for three weeks and now in the keg for 3. I will...

    My friends are very polite and say it's delish, but I know it's not right. Second straight batch with this strange smell and taste, sorta sweet -- not clean like I'm lookin for. I'm thinking low yeast pitch rate, and maybe fermentation temp off, but it was pretty cool, like 68 or so not higher...

    question about frozen kegs

    Hi guys, I came home the other day to discover both my kegs in my small homemade kegerator were frozen solid and my co2 tank was empty. Could a leak in my co2 lines have caused this? Or any other guesses. I've thawed them out and refilled the tank, the fridge is holding steady at 42 or so...

    That o'Douls is for the guilt factor, altho it's been in there for about year! Just in case. ha. I love MT. and flyfishin' for those Beaverhead browns.
