I love my ale, but every instruction on my kits say to prime the bottles with 1/2 a tea spoon of sugar. Im finding my ales really fizzy and i don't like it too fizzy, in fact i prefer them as flat as possible. Now I'm guessing that its not necessary to prime my ale at all, and cant see a problem...

Yesterday i started my first cider after doing a couple of successful beers. But after 24 hours theres no sign of fermentation, no foam and no bubbles. there is a smell of bready yeast to the mix. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help, Todays gravity reading is 1015. Sorry but don't know if thats good or not. instructions do say to bottle below 1020, but i was waiting for it to steady out abit.
