Ginger blonde in the keg! Ginger flavor and aroma are great. Not perfect yet but definitely going to remake and perfect recipe! Maybe a little more sweetness and higher abv!
With just mesh braid you might get a channelling effect on the flow of the water with fly sparging. A false bottom for even flow of water will help or batch sparge.
Just made a blonde ale using 4 oz fresh peeled ginger @ 15 min. Waiting to see if I want to add more to secondary. Also used 2 oz with 2lb honey in 1 gal batch. Both are still in primary. My first try with ginger so wanted to try a couple of different ways. Good luck with your brews.
Sorry don't know why the pictures are sideways. This is the grain bill and hop additions for IIPA. Actual Og was 1.085. The Second beer i added kumquat in the last ten minutes of the boil. Its Og was 1.050. Haven't taken a fg yet.
I just got some kumquats from my sisters house and wanted to add them to a beer. Just wondering if anyone had any experience using these? I'm thinking either ipa, hef, or maybe Saison. How much should I add and when?
Any thoughts?

On another topic I bottled a triple about two months ago. I tested one for the first time and it was great but no carbination. Should I wait and see if the others carb and how long?
To carb I just added normal amount of priming sugar. Forgot to...
Thanks for all the tips. I didn't put my hop additions in that recipe because I split the batch. 4 gallons of 1.090 and 6 of of 1.050. My second attempt at trying a parti gyle mash. Like the idea of getting two beers out of one mash.
I have 4 gallons of 1.090 og stout that has been fermenting for 9 days. Gravity is now at 1.022. No activity in air lock. Is that about as low as I can get? Pitched big starter of whitbread 1099. Here's a pic if you can tell of this beer app on my phone of the grain bill. It seems about right on...
