    BrewJacket Immersion Pro Temp Question

Yeah. I’m doing the same thing. The unit has been running now for over 24 hours. The temp is set to 62 degrees. The outer probe attached to the unit is at 62.3. While the inner water is measuring 59.8.

    BrewJacket Immersion Pro Temp Question

Anyone using the Brewjacket Pro? I just got my unit and have a question about the temperature control. I am trying it out before using it to brew. The temp probe is placed outside the bucket as directed. On my unit, the temp probe reading is different than a thermometer placed directly into the...

BYO Digital subscription? Where be all the articles n' stuff??

I really enjoyed reading the digital version of BYO. Not any more. It is terrible and takes away the whole “magazine” experience. I’ll have to go back to print or give BYO up for good. I wonder if they are going to do the same thing to Winemaker.

When do I add campden tablets during all grain Brew?

    Frozen corny keg...

Oooops. I recently cold crashed a corny keg with a blonde Ale I was brewing. And, somehow, the temp on my fridge was turned way down and the keg froze solid——unfortunately it also leaked in the process. Beer came out through the valves. So....this had never happened before. I am bummed because...

    DIY on-the-fly cooler

My basement is a constant 72 degrees. Got the wort of an Amber Ale down to 67 before pitching yeast in a basement conical. A swamp cooler and wet t-shirts kept the temp constant for 2 1/2 days, but then fermentation shot the temp up to 72. So, off to Home Depot to get a pond filter and some...

    Blonde Ale Off Flavors

The wort temp never got above 72°, according to conical thermometer. I used (for the first time) Omega West Coast Ale I yeast. My supply shop didn't have the Wyeast I usually use.

    Blonde Ale Off Flavors

Thanks, Tom. Actually, I misspoke about the daily trub. I removed trub on day 3, then on days 5 and 6. My basement is at a constant 70°. I'm brewing an amber in a couple of days and I'll bring down the wort temp to 66° and try that. Never had a problem at 70° though.

    Blonde Ale Off Flavors

Hi All, Its been awhile since I brewed and I jumped back in a couple of weeks ago with an easy all-grain blonde. However, I messed too much with the mash and ended up mashing with too low temperatures (around 147°). In the end, the gravity was slightly high (1.054), but not overly...
