    Frozen

I am pleased with the final product. It has a small burn to it but I'm sure it will age out well. So, frozen beer is still beer and can be salvaged. I think I will make a science fair project board to inform the world that beer will continue to the greatest contribution to humankind. Sent...

    Frozen

Ok back from a hectic week. I did as suggested and when I get back in town I will hopefully have a crisp house ale, perfectly carbonated for the game tonight. Thanks all and I look forward to NOT doing that again. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

You know you're a home brewer when?

SWMBO is caught surfing the internet not looking for an AA meeting place but actually if there is such an organization known as HBA (home brewers anonymous)

    Frozen

Simple as that? Just let it thaw and keg? Thanks for the advise. Lesson learned I hope.

    Frozen

Please help this poor sap who has taken cold crashing to the next level. Flash back to last weekend when I racked my beer into a secondary and added gelatin to clear it up. "I'll get to it in 48 hours" he says to himself... But NOOOOO, this fool puts it on the back burner and lo and behold...

What liquid to use in airlock?

Star San for me too. Since I routinely sanitize my airlock I simply use that.

    First brew ever!

Congratulations. As a fairly new brewer myself (2 years) I will say that the best thing you have done so far is show up on this forum and ask questions. I find myself here fairly regularly. The folks here are just awesome. Thousands of years of experience and willing to freely share. They...

    Mississippi Roll Call

Checking in from the coast (as my name would imply). Looking for others in the area. Started brewing in San Diego a couple of years ago and now retired back on the coast. Looking forward to Tops of the Hops

    Kegging Carbonation Problem

Thanks from me as well. I'll be sure to not shake it any more.

    No Irish Moss

On a side note, make sure you boil your water before mixing the gelatin. Remember your wort is sterile.

Feedback on an all grain setup

Sixfooter is spot on. I began brewing with a 10 gal Home Depot rig that cost much less. Directions and shopping list are already done on this site. Just a side note, I learned the hard (and costly) way that purchasing my setup is best done without planning on upgrades. I personally don't use...

    Kegging Carbonation Problem

Looper, As a fairly new kegger, I am always looking for tips. I have been told that shaking lightly helps the co2 permeate the beer. Is this not true?

    Kegging Carbonation Problem

10 days seems to be sufficient for carbonation, not sure why it didn't get more. I would up the pressure only after checking all the seals (assuming you are kegging in soda kegs) and give it a shake or two every 4-6 hours. Hope it works out for you, it sounds delicious.

    No Irish Moss

No worries. I have inadvertently omitted my Irish Moss and found many supporters here to correct my negligence. I bought Knox gelatin and prepared it with warm water. Once cooled, I added it directly to my carboy and cold crashed it for 48 hours. Super effective and really clear beer. Good...
