I was doing some water testing on my new HERMS build and noticed a leak.... I noticed that I can not thread one of my compression fitting into the coupler. The coupler is welded into the kettle. I think the threads in the coupler are messed up.. I can only get a few turns and then it stops...

Is there a way to extend the wire length on the BCS 460 probes? I need to add a foot or two to reach my pamel. Will this mess up the calibration?? Can I just splice some wires to make up the distance? I was looking at these...
Has anyone used a formica counter top for their E brew system. Will the heat from the kettle burn the counter top? I found a good deal and I am scared to pull the trigger. Help...:tank:
