I can't say if it tastes like the original, but what I can say is that is the first beer I brewed that is good! Yes, I'm new to homebrewing and I'm really happy now! :)

I just finished brewing this recipe. But my OG is nowhere near 1.077, I got 1.054. This is only my 4th brew, maybe my mash efficiency is still not very good. Everything else went pretty well though!

How should I modify my Danby fridge so it can be warmer?

Thanks BrewCrewKevin, I guess I'll buy a STC1000. Everybody seem to say it's easier and less risky!

Yes it is! But it also stops the golden part!

How should I modify my Danby fridge so it can be warmer?

I bought a used Danby fridge to make a fermentation chamber. Currently, the warmer the fridge can be (when the wheel is set to "1") is approximately 57F. I'd like to be able to have a 65F temperature for my fermentations. How can I achieve this? I saw that some persons use an aquarium...

Hops and yeast (WLP013) have been ordered... I'm brewing this soon! I do not have access to Polyclar though. I'll use Irish Moss and Whirlfloc instead. Abner is one of the best beer I've ever had!

I now have all my hops! I'm probably brewing this sunday. I have one question though : at the store where I buy my yeast, they currently do not have the Dry English Ale (White Labs #WLP007). What should I use instead, in your opinion? - California Ale (WLP001) or - English Ale (WLP002...

Going to make my first starter ever. Is a stir plate required?

But you don't want infection either right?

Going to make my first starter ever. Is a stir plate required?

I have another question : I see a lot of people doing a starter in a flask with aluminium foil to cover it. But why doesn't it need an airlock? Isn't there CO2 produced?

Thanks for the tips! My first two recipes were also IPA bombs and I realised that the hop absorbs a lot of liquid indeed! What I did to filter the hops is a trick I read here on HBT : I tied a filtering bag when I racked to my bottling bucket. It works pretty well! (I now bought a reusable...

As a newbie who's going to try this recipe, I have another question : When dextrose is specified in a recipe (here : "1lb Dextrose"), it's always sugar to add at flameout, is that correct? So if I use bottle conditioning, I have to add some extra sugar before bottling, right? Thanks in...
