So I'm brewing again today. As soon as I started to boil after my FWH addition it started to go crazy. I sprayed it down with water and lowered the heat a bunch as one of you suggested and now it's perfect. Thanks so much guys. Hoping this mosaic IPA turns out good.

Does anybody on here do any automation for a living? I do it in the Commercial HVAC field and I love reading these threads. I'm just curious if anyone is using any commercial/Industrial applications on their homebrew setup.
On this particular brew day I went through about 4 spray bottles. I was constantly spraying it. On the bright side, it was a tremendous forearm workout
No, unfortunately I do not whirlpool.
The temp gauge seems to be very accurate however I always monitor with a digital sensor too.
I'm happy with this set up overall..I just get bad efficiency because its apparently too big of a chore for my LHBS to crush my grains finer than normal.
I've done a couple 2.5 gallon batches in a 5 gallon bucket that turned out okay. It seemed as though there was much less airlock activity than normal but I don't know if that's the reason why
