I used WLP400. I believe thats supposed to be Hoegaarden yeast. It is also a low floctuating yeast so I would have expected it to stay in suspension and cloud up the beer

It does say max surface temp 60C but it also says it self-extinguishes so I thought it would be alright. Now I'm not so sure... I thought armaflex was the material people used when insulating a direct fire mash tun? Are there better materials to use for this purpose?

Fantastic! Looks like it is waterproof as well which will make cleaning the mash tun much easier. I'm looking for a material that I can attach permanently that also looks pretty cool. Think this may tick all the boxes.

Great. I have used the method described in the post you suggested before. It works well. I have only used it for high floc strains though. Wasn't sure whether for low floc strains you would get the same behaviour as it is supposed to stay in suspension longer. Will definitely give it a try...
