    Sulfur in Soda

Did you figure it out? I just made my first attempt at a vanilla cream soda and used lager yeast and it had sulfur smell and taste.

    American IPA Fresh Squeezed IPA

Interesting! I checked gravity today at 1 week and it was at 1.015, so I decided to throw in the dry hop addition. Since I had it I went with a 1oz addition of Citra instead of the 1.5oz of Chinook it calls for. Love the citra smell, hoping for great results. This is gonna be a Yuuge beer, 8.5%...

    American IPA Fresh Squeezed IPA

So I kinda winged a partial extract recipe while at the LHBS after reading the OP on the way (wife drove, nice!) Ended up huge at 1.080 OG today, here's what I changed up; 10# CBW Golden Light LME (3x 3.33# tubs) 1#6oz Carapils (just the way the scoop measured out) 1# Crystal 40 10oz...

Finding a good scratch root beer recipe

I just made your 2 gal recipe last night and it's pretty good. I was wondering on this one, what is the maltodextrine for? Follow up question what's the major difference flavorwise between the two recipes? Thanks!

    Frankenstein Cali Common

Thanks for the pointers! Maybe I'll save the Citra for another ale or ipa.

    Frankenstein Cali Common

Hey All, just wondering on how this will turn out, some alternate hop selection due to lbhs shortage. Partial Extract with steeping grains, substituting Perle hops for Northern Brewer. Additionally want to dry hop with Citra. Any thoughts if this is good idea or not? Doing a 10 gallon batch, so...

Frigidaire 8.8 LFFC09M5HW build and some useful links.

Nice build, I'm thinking about using the same freezer to do mine. Updates? Did you figure out the temp controller yet? I have used an ST-1000 Temperature Controller for my previous mini kegerator and it worked great. Either wire outputs to a plug and plug your freezer into it or can splice...

    DIY Kegerator: Moving Beyond Functionality

@maverick9862 might i recommend fiberglassing the inside of the refrigerator "box" to form a continuous seal, with a lip on the open side to which your door gasket would press up and form a seal? Awesome build, sucks to hear the refrigeration system crapped out on you.

California Common California Common (Anchor Steam Clone) Extract and AG

Bottled this yesterday, ended up at 1.015 f.g. Tastes great, is really clear and has nice amber color. Can't wait for it to prime and rest in the bottle for 2-3 weeks to give it a try. :fro:

California Common California Common (Anchor Steam Clone) Extract and AG

Brew is going well today so far, thanks for keeping this thread active! I went through everything to date last night when I woke up at 2 am and couldn't go back to sleep in anticipation! OK it's in the primary let's hope I didn't do anything un-sanitary... wort tastes good, sweet and a little...

California Common California Common (Anchor Steam Clone) Extract and AG

Hi All, I have a two-part question about this recipe; First, I am looking for this to be my first brew. Is this a good one for a first timer? I do have a degree in mechanical engineering and plenty of experience in lab setting so I am comfortable with the sanitizing, glassware, cooking...
