I think i will clear coat it. I dont want to mess it up and have to put new carpet down. Kind of ruins the point of taking it up in the first place.

Thanks for the tips guys. I might just use the medthod where you scuff it up with steel wool a little and reseal it.

Im having a baby in a couple months and want to get rid of my carpet. My wife also wants to make the hardwood a little darker. I was wondering if there is anyway to do that without sanding the floor. Its not in bad shape. Any help to save me from having to sand the floor would be great...

I ended up adding 6 lbs of liquid barley extract to make a 10 gallon batch. And added some roasted barley, midnight wheat and cara special 3. I dont think its a porter anymore. :-)

Could i sub in cara-pils for malto and lactose? And how much would you think?

Menard has both gamma lids and food grade safe buckets for cheap.

I had 3 batches get ruined because of chloramine. They must have just added it to the city water because those were the only 3 batches that had that flavor. I now made a filter and that seems to help also.

I was going to use harvested oberon yeast do you guys think that would be a good idea? Also my crawl space is around 67F will that work?

I used midnight wheat it doesnt have much roast flavor which is nice.
