So I've been not managing to get to my beer supply store for days to get yeast so I can make a lazy extract batch.
Well it occurred me this morning that I had a jar of yeast in the fridge from my first all grain batch, so I could get in the habit and practice of keeping yeast in reserve.
So I got it out, warmed it up and thawed the ice build up from working it's way to the far reaches of the fridge. And there was yeast water separation soooooo I figured I'd shake it up.
Turns out newly awoken yeast doesn't like that. I open the jar and the yeast came pouring out, seems it'd managed to work up a little extra carbonation while in the fridge.
It's been a learning day.
So I guess the next batch of beer will be made with a different yeast so I can have an assortment stored and ready to go.
