Wyeast 1335 for Stone IPA Clone?

My LBS is phasing out carrying White Labs. I wanted to use WL007 for a Stone IPA Clone. (I read on here that is what Stone used to use).

Brew shop guy told me 1335 might work as a substitute. Does anyone have an opinion?

Try WY1217 West Coast IPA. It's supposed to be from Stone. I've done a few IPAs w / it. Outstanding.

Can you still get 1217? I didn't see it on morebeer website, and wyeast site says it has been archived. I would love to try that yeast in an IPA.

I believe the yeast is being retired...Booths Brewing in Brandon, FL just posted that they have some left but that will be the end when it is gone.

If no-one still has it in stock (luckily in OZ we still do), find someone with some slurry, and then yeast bank. You won't be disappointed.

according to mrmalty, 1098 is the Wy equivalent to 007: http://www.mrmalty.com/yeast.htm#WLP_vs_Wyeast
