So my Oktoberfest has been in primary for a week now. I'm leaving today and won't be back home for a week. I'll be home for one day, then I fly out for 2 more weeks.

So, which is my best option?

1. On my one day home, I raise the temp on my fermenter a few degrees and do a 2 week D rest.
2. On my day home, I raise the temp for a D rest for a couple of days, then have SWMBO drop temps and start my lager while still in primary? (SWMBO won't rack to secondary)
3. Just leave it in primary at 53 degrees where it is currently fermenting?
4. Something I'm not thinking of.

On your day home, pull a sample and test for diacetyl. If present, raise it for the D-rest and leave it until you return. If no diacetly and it is at FG, transfer and begin lagering.
