I have tryed to put a recipe together for an ESB (american style) in a number of recipe calculators.(extract)... and I just cant seem to get a good IBU. Always too low...
I am also not sure which IBU calculation I should use...the three vary quite a bit.
Here is what I have..
5.28 gal (20L)
~1.5gal boil
2.5 kg Spray Malt E. Light
.5 kg Crystal Malt 60L
.22 kg(.5lb) Carapils malt
24 EBC 12 SRM
Og 1.054
Fg. 1.015
abv5.2
Salafe dry yeast s04
Hopps
any suggestions??
From what I have seen in other recipes the hops additions are about 2 oz, Tattnanger, Willamate, combination, but with my small boil size i need a lot more hops, which I dont have the money for.... any Hop alternatives like a use of Magnum? for this style.
