I've been looking for a thread on this but got lazy so am just going to post it myself.
What's your favorite extract brand?
I've only made 2 brews, but was really taken back by how different extracts tasted from the can side by side. So I was wondering if anyone had any favorites or if it was more whatever is available thing.

I don't know the brand, but I buy bulk extract at my LBHS. I can get exactly how much I want rather than using the "can o' this, can o' that" units. Plus, it's very fresh since they go through it really fast.

I use Briess DME, my LHBS is just down the road from LD Carlson so it's pretty fresh. However, it's DME not LME so I'm not sure it makes too much of a difference.

Briess Pilsen extract is the best pale extract on the market. It has a lovibond of 1. The lightest grain available has a lovibond of 1.8. Almost twice as dark.

We use it for our extra pale LME.

Only ever used Muntons, amber and Extra light, cant really complain about the results. Plus at my LHBS its 3-4 dollars cheaper per can than anything else.
