Up until a few weeks ago, my wife would watch 4-5 hours of TV a day. It was to the point that she'd get up an hour early (three hours before needing to be at work, a 20 minute drive away) to watch an hour or so of TV. I casually mentioned a couple of times that she watches a lot of TV, and never said anything more, until it impacted things. Then things came to a head...
I woke up one morning and didn't have any clean clothes folded for work. For a normal job, no big deal. But I'm in the military. Not having a clean uniform is a serious offense. That's her chore (to fold and store), I merely collect and wash.
Ever since, she's been helping with the brewing. And at least saying she enjoys it. She even asks me what I need done with my brewery now. Sounds silly, right?
The last three brew days, she's volunteered to empty and rinsed the mash tun. She seemed like she even enjoyed it.
Tonight, she tore down, inventoried, vacuum sealed, and re-organized my entire specialty grain storage area. That's 10 cases of half-gallon mason jars -- somewhere in the range of 126-132 pounds of grain. To boot, she even updated all my grain inventory in BeerSmith, then sorted all of the cases in order of Lovibond.
What's wrong with her? Surely, she can't really enjoy doing all of this. Can she?
Edit: She thinks I wrote that she's a lazy *****. She's not. She works full time and pays the bills. And she's actually been helping me brew for 3 months, but why does she find it SO much fun to clean the mash tun?
