So when I first started all grain, I used all sorts of posted recipes to see what I would like to brew. By and large, I have enjoyed most, though some I won't brew again.
During my trials, I brewed a recipe for a Biere de Garde I used from the HBA website. Below are the ingredients I used:
9 lbs Pilsener malt
0.5 lb Vienna Malt
0.5 lb Crystal 30
4.75 lbs flaked corn
1 lb sucrose
.5 HBU Hallertauer, 105 minutes
.5 Brewers Gold, 105 minutes
.5 HBU Brewers Gold, 30 minutes
.25 Styrian Goldings, 10 minutes (aroma)
Now, here is where I diverged...original recipe called for a Scottish Ale yeast but I used Wyeast 3787. I had mixed up a couple recipes and used the Belgian yeast instead. I have brewed it many times and its turned out a favorite each time (so long as I keep my temps steady and in the 70s).
So what would this be called?
