Not sure where you live but if you have either Costco or Sam's Club nearby, I've bought beautiful thick lamb chops from both of them.i need to find me a source for lamb chops. I love my pork chops but i imagine the flavor of lamb doesn't even compare.
Living in the very upper midwest sheep was never a livestock raised in abundance. I have recently seen some ranches with sheep so I will be putting out some feelers on the book of faces to see if there is a farm to table option. Locally grocers and walmart may carry frozen lamb and not many options, I never have seen any fresh because the market for it is very small. Not sure where you live but if you have either Costco or Sam's Club nearby, I've bought beautiful thick lamb chops from both of them.
I have aone or two online sources too, if you don't have a local place to pick them up. I can post links if you need them!
Yeah, cattle ranchers are not generally very fond of sheep! I love the stuff though. We have a nice source of grassfed beef grown just down the road from us here; I also buy Piedmontese beef (grass-fed/finished) online. I can get non-soy-fed chickens and we've bought half a pig in the past. But it's hard to get good lamb around here too except at Sam's or Costco. It's New Zealand raised but it's damn good eating!Living in the very upper midwest sheep was never a livestock raised in abundance. My mom raises grass fed cattle, I get a whole hog raised 30 miles away, catch my own fish, hunt for venison. only missing some lamb. well maybe some prairie chickens I need to buy a shotgun.
We get boneless leg of lamb here at Sam's for a pretty decent price and it's delicious when herbed, seasoned well and served medium rare. Winn Dixie has chops but they're pricey.Sam's or Costco
Cool. Haven’t done any dry age myself. Looks great. Not this weekend and not next weekend but one not far down the road it's going to be dry aged ribeyes.
Just learned a restaurant up the road sells their in-house dry aged beef in raw form for takeout, so to speak.
USDA prime grade, 30-45 day dry aged, two 16oz ribeyes for $36. Dunno about y'all but that seems pretty reasonable to me if the meat ends up being anything like it should be.
The huge dry aged prime tomahawks they'll sell for $75 each. The picture doesn't really do them justice. The racks reminded me of The Flintstones when the bronto ribs tip over Fred's car.

Thanks I don’t eat like this very often. Yes, very high in carbs, especially washing it down with a beer. The burger bun was “light” bread.Oh boy, Merry, that would be right up my alley if I were to go off my eating plan for one meal!
