We are landscaping and planting like crazy. One of our goals is to block the water coming off the street from running down into the house. That means building a tier along the road with a drain line. Yesterday, the water meter guy couldn't find the meter, so we went exploring. It was about 8" down. I sent an email to the company asking that the box be raised. They didn't have me or my wife in their files. They had the house listed as unoccupied!

We've been here since Dec. 2010 and haven't been paying for water. I thought that the water was on the sewer bill. Since they never sent any notice or wondered why a vacant house was using so much water, they decided to start the account today. Given the number of leaky meters around here and the number of vacant houses, I'm not too surprised.
