I have a yeast I washed on March 28th. I was hoping to do a 2 stage starter, but I ran short of time. Last night I threw the yeast into a 1L starter to wake it up. Normally I would give it 48 hours, cold crash and then re-pitch into 1.5l starter. Well, I don't have time to cold crash so can I just boil up another 1L starter and add it to my 'currently in progress starter'? I'd go bigger but until my 5L flask arrives I have to settle and deal with my 2L setup. Thanks for the help.....brewing Sunday but I do have us-05 on hand for backup.

Well I was hoping to find a quick answer and go to bed....so I waited...then I googled my question and of course found several old threads on the topic. I'm now making another 1L starter to add. Sadly I won't be able to crash out the nasty stuff, but all is well.
