Not sure if I got the correct sized copper tubing for my CFC project.

I picked up 60' of 3/8" copper tubing, with the intention of making a couple of CFC.

Using the parts list from here: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/counterflow-chiller-tutorial-51793/ , I also picked up a couple of 1/2" to 1/4" copper reducers, but copper tubing I picked up doesn't fit through the reducer, however a 1/2" to 3/8" reducer works just fine (after I drilled out the stop).

The box says "3/4 inch type L 60 ft." on it. Lowes Item #: 23398 | Model #: LS03060PSE (http://www.lowes.com/pd_23398-58421...398&UserSearch=23398&productId=4742140&rpp=32) Side note: I paid much much less than what they have it listed for on the site.

I'm attaching 2 photos: one of the two reducers (3/8 on the left, 1/4 on the right), and one of a tape measure across the 3/8" reducer.

$50,000 question: do I have the correct copper tubing for a CFC?

That's because type L tubing is sized by its inside diameter and so are the sweat fittings. That's why the tubing OD is 1/2" actual and the 3/8" side of the fitting has a 1/2" ID. Where you're going to get tripped up is if you use a 5/8" ID garden hose. Now you only have a 1/16" cross section donut of cooling water. I'd recommend either exchanging for 3/8" refrigeration tubing or upsize to 3/4" ID garden hose.

Thanks for the clarification! Looks like it's time to head back to Lowes!
