I am throwing an oktoberfest party next weekend for friends and neighbors. I will have 3 of my own brews ontap (Oktoberfest, Kolsch, + Saison), although most of my friends appreciate craft beer, most of my neighbors do not.
I wanted to get a 1/4 barrel of coors banquet in my keezer for these folks (It's also my working beer so I know it would get drunk over time). Trouble is I just called the store and Coors banquet only comes in 15.5 gallon kegs. There is no way I can get a full 1/2 barrel up into my system without a block-and-tackle rigging system which I haven't built yet.
Thus the thought just occurred to me: why not buy the 1/2 barrel of banquet, drink a few pints when I get home and then transfer the rest to three clean/sanitized cornies. Any reason this would not work?
I appreciate any thoughts/input.
