Hey guys, I currently have a red wine fermenting in a 5 gallon bucket, when I rack it to a 6 gallon carboy want to add some apple juice to fill up the difference , is there anything I should do to the apple juice. I just want the flavors of the apple juice.

Thanks

If you use unopened pasteurized apple juice there shouldn't be a problem, just add it, but I would not top of with juice after the wine has cleared, or it will cloud again.

Excuse my newbie question, I have store bought bottle of apple juice would that work.

Yes.

This is a good idea because the small amount of resulting fermentation (unless somehow you got ALL the yeast out) will force any oxygen out and replace it with carbon dioxide. Make sure you use an airlock.

Also, make sure the juice doesn't include any kind of 'sorbate' as a preservative which could stunt or stop fermentation, and cause problems if you use malolactic bacteria.
