Throwing a cider on a cream ale cake?

I just got done with a cream ale it's about to be in the keg. I used 1056 for the cream ale and it's been In a Ferm chamber. Can I pour my juice directly on top of the yeast cake or should I get a
Different yeast? I guess what I'm asking is am I going to run into any off flavors?
 
i've made cider with ale yeast. better this way then with wine or cider or champagne yeast......the most important thing is to make sure you aren't buying cider with preservatives
