I found this on craigstlist and am trying to decide if it's worth it. A couple pots, some valves and a few pumps and I'm brutus. I don't see why it wouldn't support enough for 5 gallon batches, maybe even 10.

The things I'm worried about:

It's a bit of a drive from where I am in Green Bay, could I just build one cheaper?

The burners look pretty rough should they be replaced?

Are they going to be able to boil 6 gallons?

Any thoughts for me guys?

you can't build one cheaper. A single good burner will cost you $75 new.

If that frame is strong enough to hold 8 gallons of water plus 10 lbs of mash and its water and a boil kettle full of liquid...maybe 75-100 lbs, you're good. buy it quick.

Worth it. As long as you have a place to put it, that is, and it fits into your "plan." No reason to let a good deal steer you down a complicated and expensive road you wouldn't otherwise have taken.
