Hi all,

I'm currently starting a brew and I just got one of the good brewing thermometers at the Brew Store. The weight on the bottom makes it sink to the bottom of the pot, so if my recipe calls for a mash temp of 152 degrees is it 152 at the bottom??? Or the middle??

Thanks

It is hard to have the mash temp uniform throughout. Ideally the 152 is where you want the temp to be everywhere. I think that the temp in the middle would be your best bet as the bottom might be a little higher and the top a little lower.
