Tried to look around a bit for this, with no luck.
With a three gallon batch, taking lots of Gravity readings really adds up over time, so in an effort to limit waste heres my question.
Usually I try not to rack over the coldbreak & hops left in the bottom of the kettle from cooling. But is the remaining wort in my kettle going to have a different OG than the clear wort I am racking over into the fermenter.
Up until this point I have racked into the fermenter first, then used the remaining wort to take OG readings. Just wondering if the coldbreak/hop break in the remaining wort affects my gravity readings?
