I purchased from rural king on 3/20 and received on 5/1. 6 weeks to the day; they quoted up to 8 weeks. I got the 2" MNPT instead of the standard 1.5 FNPT, but they told me it would be the same lead time either way.
Why would you get the 2"? Aren't the fittings typically 1.5"?

I ended up cancelling my order from rural king and ordered from spray smarter. They already shipped and will be here this week.

Agrimart also has them for $65 and will do free shipping with the code "FREE".

I didn't want the threads on the inside. I wanted it to stay smooth and clean. I didn't necessarily want to go with 2" either, but that was the only option that I saw to get the threading on the outside. Judging from how rough they cut the threads, I'm happy with my decision.

I haven't started any work on it yet, but I'll be putting a 2" Banjo ball valve on and will make any size and fitting adaptations I decide on below that. It will be a while though. I'm working on a Kal eHerms clone also.

I just got an email from rural king they want me to review the induction tank I purchased on 4/10 the only problem I haven't received mine yet!!!!!!

I got that same email too. My conical arrived a few days later. Perhaps it's coincidence, or perhaps they send that email out when it ships.

With that said, based on my wait time, you're due to receive yours any day now. I never got a shipping notice, it just arrived.

I ordered mine last month and I just called to see where it was and they said it has a ship date of mid June

That may be true, and i don't want to beat a dead horse. But for what it's worth, they have no clue because its coming from the manufacturer, not them. They go by the back-order date.

I called to check on mine and was told that they were all 8-10 weeks back ordered, and mine wasn't scheduled for delivery for at least 3-5 more weeks. I got it less than a week later.

Good luck!

Only if you spend over $250.

Put it in your cart with all your info then close the window. In a couple hours they will send a 10% off coupon. Within a day a 15% then in a couple days I got a free shipping code and the total was $135.

I woke up to find this in my inbox:

Enter coupon code Agrimart10 during checkout to receive $10.00 off your order!
(Orders over $100)

If this keeps up, I might be able to get a couple.. don't tell the SWMBO... I can always claim shipping charges, then "oops, they must have sent two on accident!"

Hate the game, not the playa.. lol

Yeah, that's how I found out about it. Might just order a fourth just in case one of mine get scratched.

So begins the process of building a trio of glycol chilled conicals.

I got a free shipping code a couple days ago.. but the fine print did say "orders over $250".

Jerks.

I went with spray smarter to get it here soon. But will wait on rural king for ultra snail mail. In the mean time I have 10 gal of ESB fermenting in its first of many batches

Where is everyone getting their 1.5" valves now? Prices are through the roof on eBay.

Yea its funny you spend 65-100 on the conical and can easily double the price in fittings. I think my tri clover fittings with a 1.5" sight glass and butterfly valve from brewers hardware was close to $100.

Do you mean $200? That's what I spent with shipping last week. $55 alone for.the butterfly valve.

No I have less than 100 in the tri clover. Must admit though my conical came with the npt to tri clamp fitting on the tank already.

Whats the current lag lime on the Rural King conicals. Im in Canada but going to visit a friend in Washington mid July. I was going to order 2 and bring them back with me, anyone think they'll make it there on time.

8 weeks, possibly longer.

FYI, if anyone is looking to order from spraysmarter it looks like they have a coupon code "FJM2013" that's good for 10% off.

I was in a similar boat with the RuralKing delay. I had to call and cancel the order, but their customer service was confused because they had shipped out a plastic bulkhead already, and labeled the entire order as complete.

Got my money back, ordered from Agrimart; arrived 3 days after ordering.

Did I read back up in this thread that to eliminate the plastic smell of the conical I should simply leave it in the sun for a few days?

Thanks

So just finished reading this thread from start to finish over the the last few days but i seem to have lost the posts where guys explained and detail their rotating diptube setups.

Anyone happen to have those pont links saved and care to explain or link me back to those posts?

this is what I have planned:
1.5" Tri Clover X 1.5" Male NPT https://www.brewershardware.com/1-1.5-Tri-Clover-X-1.5-Male-NPT.html Conical Fermenter 1 $19.00 19.00
1.5" Tri Clover Butterfly Valve - Pull Trigger https://www.brewershardware.com/TC15VBFVPT.html Conical Fermenter 1 $51.00 51.00

3" Tri Clover Clamp https://www.brewershardware.com/3-Tri-Clover-Clamp.html Conical Fermenter 1 $7.50 7.50
15 Gallon Conical fermentor http://www.spraysmarter.com/ace-roto-mold-white-inductor-tank-15-gallon-open-flow.html Conical Fermenter 1 $59.83 59.83

Was planning on running the 2-3" reducer (or a 2"x12" extension) on the bottom of the sight glass in order to increase the volume of the yeast/trub catcher while keeping the functionality of the sight glass. I'm recovering typically 1.5L of trub and yeast per 5gallon batch as I tend to brew beers in the 6-8% range. I am likely to fill the sight glass without the extension on the bottom multiple times over by my math.
