Up until recently the price of gas just over the border in southern Oregon was at least 65-80 cents cheaper than here in northern California. The most recent difference is 8 cents.

The best price I can find is $2.70 a gallon. Oregon is more expensive than Washington. I lived in Vancouver for 14 years and gas in Oregon was usually 15-20 cents more. What's the current price in N California? I filled up last week for $2.2x at Costco. Usually California, Washington, and New York have the highest gas taxes. It seems to rotate because each state just keeps adding more to pay for things motorists don't even use.
National brand? Shell and mobile were around $4 not that long ago. The off brand I usually get was $3.70 something and gas at the Fred Meyer in Brookings was $2.86.someone was just telling me gas was $1.65 in tucson.....i remember paying $4+ for it in NorCal.....i remember registration being more too, now i can get a 5 year stamp for ~$100....

Oregon has to pay for the pumpers. Accidentally started pumping my own once while in Hillsborough, got corrected pretty quickly.
With the price of crude so far down I thought it would drop a lot lower than it has.

When crude goes up, gas price goes up overnight. When crude goes down, it takes a while for gas prices to go down. Weird, huh?
Here, Costco regular gas is $1.35; Diesel is $2.30
Remember that a big component in the difference in retail price are the state and local taxes:
