I have a Sunshine Wheat clone in primary and its been there for 6 weeks. I've had a crazy work schedule the last few weeks and I haven't had a chance to keg it.

Yesterday I noticed a small white growth of something on the surface. Today I noticed that its about doubled in size (about the size of a dime). Beer smells and tastes fine and I am planning to rack from under it and keg today.

Unfortunately I left my camera at a friends this weekend so I can't take a pic. The best way I can describe it is it looks like a dime size white paint chip floating on the surface.

Any guesses as to what this might be?

Edit: It looks like the start of something similar to the first picture on the second page of this thread - https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f39/post-your-infection-71400/index2.html Here's the pic - https://cdn.homebrewtalk.com/gallery/data/1/medium/IMG_03252.JPG
Mine doesn't look fuzzy like the one in the link above and like mentioned above it is only the size of a dime. Any idea what that is? Am I right to rack from under it to keg and RDWHAHB? Do I have to worry about it getting worse in the keg and contamination of my keg and beer lines & faucet?

Cheers

If it's brilliant white like that gallery photo, I'd scoop it out just for peace of mind and hope it doesn't come back.

It's definitely not bubbles - definitely an infection and is brilliant white. I'm thinking that it might be lacto.
