What actually happens to hop pellets if they're left out of refrigeration? Mine were sitting out for about 3-4 days, and may have become quite warm, before I froze them a week and a half ago. I'm thinking of using them for dry hopping. Are they likely to work OK? Can I tell anything by smelling or tasting them?

I don't think they'll be damaged. Most kits you buy have hops in them at room temp, and I'm sure they get pretty warm when shipped. Just smell them and make sure they look okay. I've also heard that warming them up prior to dry hopping is a good way to release some of the aroma into your beer. I doubt you'll have problems.
