I brew on a three vessel Herms rig and chill with a 50 ft counter flow chiller that is built in to the system. After the boil I pump through the chiller back into the kettle to whirlpool the hops and chill the wort. After that I pump the cooled wort into the fermenter. There is still wort in the chiller so I usually connect the hose to the hot liquor tank and use hot water to push it out. How about adding a gallon or so to the kettle to sparge the hops and use that to push the rest of the wort out of the chiller. Either way it will all be chilled. Does anybody see a problem with doing that?
