I am getting things ready to build a Son of a Fermentation Chamber but before I bought the thermostat, has anyone used a two stage temp controller and used a brew belt or something similar?

Or would the heat melt the Styrofoam or would this be a fire hazard?

Thanks,

A 2 stage temp controller should work well for your application, provided it has auto switching between cooling and heating modes. The brew belt won' (or shouldn't) get so hot that it melts Styrofoam. That would be detrimental to your yeast and beer. I much prefer Fermwrap myself. I think it provides a gentler, more more even heat distribution for your fermenter.
