So my first batch of mead was just honey yeast and water and came out like rocket fuel. Then i began learning about nutrients and the next batch with nutrient came out like not so strong rocket fuel. Then i learned of degassing and the next batch came out much better with nutrient and degassing but still needed aging. Now ive been reading about staggering the nutrient additions. Ive read people have been making award winning meads in only a few weeks and not months or years with SNA. Does this schedule work or make sense? I will be making a 1 gal batch. Nutrient 1 tsp/gal energizer 1/2 tsp/gal mixed together and divided into 4 parts.
Day 0: yeast and 1 part of nurtient
Day 1: degas
Day 2: nutrient and stir
Day 3: degas
Day 4: nutrient and stir
Day 5: degas
Day 6: nutrient and stir
Day 7: degas
Checking gravity at day 0 and day 8

As SKbugs said, take a look at the BOMM (Bray’s One Month Mead) sticky at the top of this forum. It’s where I started making mead and it will walk you through the process.
