I've been looking in the archives for a while, but I haven't found an answer to this specific question.

I have bottles of both Starsan and Iodophor.

What is the shelf life of diluted Iodophor?

I like to keep some extra sanitizer around in a spray bottle so I don't have to mix up a new batch to sanitize a hydrometer.

Am I better off with one or the other? Would either last over 3 weeks?

There is a recent brewingtv episode where they say as long as the PH is right the starsan is good.

My general rule of thumb for the spray bottle I keep is if it foams when shaken it is still good.

I have a 5 gallon water bottle that I fill up at this station at my local grocery store.

I add 1 ounce of Starsan and since it is RO water, it stays good indefinitely. I usually have it over a year using it to refill spray bottles and for quick sanitizing needs.

Iodophor will not come close to this, plus it is not septic safe like Starsan.
