Hello!

I am trying to make a scoby from a bottle of unpastured kombucha.

This is how it looks after 4 weeks covered.

Does anyone know what the white spots on the surface is?

Hard to tell, but in my experience the scoby "is born" as an even film on the liquid's surface rather than separated particles.
4 weeks is a long time, I don't think it's working. But or course I can be wrong
