I want to make a fairly hoppy amber ale. I am a huge fan of pales/IPA's and that's pretty much all I like. I don't enjoy very malty beers, but I do enjoy and amber. I haven't seen a whole lot of recipes around for this style. I have seen Jamil's hoppy amber recipe and the malt bill is a little more complicated than I want. I want the malt bill to be fairly simple. Also, not entirely sure which kind of hops would work best. I have a bunch of Australian galaxy, chinook, cascade, simcoe, citra, amarillo, and home grown mt. hood. I am willing to purchase more hops for the beer, but wouldn't mind working with what I have. Any recipes or advice you have would be appreciated. Cheers!

That's a nice, simple recipe. Good place to start. I'd maybe make the malt bill a bit more complicated than that. Interesting choice of bittering hop. I like the idea of using chinook as a flame out for a piney flavor. I'd like to make mine quite a bit hoppier though. More additions and a fairly extensive dry hop. Maybe a combo of chinook/simcoe/cascade.

Wrote this one up relatively quickly.

Not sure if that's too much crystal or not. I'm thinking about dropping the crystal-120. I may also mash around 151-153 so the wort is more fermentable with all the crystal thats in the recipe. Thoughts? A
