I have an old racetrack keg that I've used for one or two beers. I installed a new nylon spacer in the liquid-out post when I got the keg, but found a "universal" poppit that's long enough to not need a spacer for the gas-in post (still too short for the liquid side).

Now after two batches the spacer is starting to discolor. Should I be worried about that? How often should I replace it? And my main question: is there a post that will fit (I think it's an odd size) that doesn't require a spacer? Or at the very least, has anyone come up with a permanent stainless or silicone spacer that won't wear or discolor?

Thanks!
