So I have read with homebrew, it's best to put keep it in the fridge at least 48 hours before cracking one. Is this true with craft beers bought at the store that are at room temp?

If the commercial beers are bottle conditioned, then sure 48 hours in the fridge will help clear the beer (same as homebrew). But brews that are not bottle conditioned, it really doesn't matter.

How can you tell if they are bottle conditioned?

Some are and some are not?

I guess I just mean all of the 12 packs at the market that are not in their chiller. Basically they are warm and not in the fridge.

If it is not stated on the label that they are bottle conditioned, then look for yeast settled on the inside bottom of the bottle.

Usually, i'd just recommend 24 hours in the cold, and simply to help the CO2 absorb into the beer and out of the neck space. That goes for any beer.
