Question about Bottle Filler Level

I am interested in designing an auto-fill bottler that is counter pressure. I currently have a functional four bottle CP filler but want to take it to the next level by turning it into an auto fill.

What do the professional line bottlers use to make sure each bottle is filled to the appropriate level? I am not really interested in making a timing sequence as I don't want under and over fills.

I thought about this a little when I worked packaging for a brewery. We would just use eyesight to compare to a standard we kept near us. I was thinking photo eye sensing the difference in light throughput but I think a laser type system would be similar.

I'm guessing this is how larger operations do it or a sophisticated camera system with fill detection.
