I’ve been doing all grain for a while and I bottle condition (don’t have kegs unfortunately). I never really cared about the clarity of my beer but thought it might be nice to start trying to clean them up some.

So protafloc (or IM) and gelatin are two things that pop up a lot for clarifying.

Do you do one or the other or can you/should you do both?

Will it make much of a difference if I’m bottle conditioning?

I assume they don’t affect taste?

Anything else I should know?

I like to use gelatin and find that putting it in the primary after the fermentation is complete works well.
Give it a small stir and Let it sit overnight or longer.

You can then rack to the bottling bucket (or keg) and proceed as normal.

From my experience It will not effect the yeast that remains and beer will carbonate normally in the bottle or keg.
