pinlock post issue......

Hey everyone. Recently I've had a very difficult time getting the beverage side onto the pinlock post. To the point that I have to use a wrench and it isn't completely on. I have others where they are loose and I have to use a second o-ring to make them snug. So for these that I can't get on, is it a poppet issue? Or something else I'm not thinking of?

Sidenote, are ball lock fittings better than pinlock? Thanks in advance.

could it be possible that the pins are bent in one direction or another? If you know the threading, you can just get some replacement ones.
