Hi all,

Looking at pumps for my brewery build. First thing, I don't live in the US and no where down here (peru) sells march pumps. I have found somewhere that sells Panworld pumps. Has any one heard of these before or had any experice with them?

I am looking at the PS serries. This is the link to the data sheet from the place down here in Peru that sells them (in english). http://www.dynaflux.com.pe/pdf/PS_Series_PANWORLD.pdf
and from the Panworld site. http://www.panworld.com.sg/ps.htm

They have a range avalible down here, which you can see here http://www.dynaflux.com.pe/productos_bombas_centrifugas.htm

Is this a suitable pump for brewing? I am designing a 150L system and want something to suit, both the system size and budget.

Any advice much appreicated.
Thanks

I don't see any reason it wouldn't work its a magnetic drive pump. there site doesn't list the temp range but I think it will work just fine.

You're going to want to find a model that has an appropriate flow rate for what you're doing as well. Are you just going to be using the pump for transferring wort/liquor from one vessel to another or are you going to try a whirlpool chiller? If you're patient, a slower flow rate would work fine for transferring wort but you will need a pretty decent one to whirlpool chill.

I plan on whirpooling with one of the pumps, what kind of flow rate should I be looking at? Keep in mind we are talking about 150L/40G of wort.

The March 809 ones are around 6 gpm and work well for a 5-10 gallon batch. Scaling that up would be around 24 gpm for 40 gallons or 90 Lpm. That does seem ridiculously high to me and I'm sure you can get away with something much less than that. Maybe someone who has done whirlpool chilling on a 20 gallon batch can chime in with their experiences.
