This was my second all grain batch and being the rookie I did not use a recipe calculator and just decided to wing it. After brewing I used a calculator and realized the IBU's were quite high vs ABV. Anyway now I'm enjoying a surprisingly good IPA that even my non hop head buddies think is good. So I figure I would share the recipe.
Oohoops IPA

8.0 lb Pale 2 to malt - 2 SRM
3.0 lb Vienna malt - 9 SRM
.5 lb Carmel/crystal malt 10L
Mash
Strike water - 166 - 4 gals
Steep temp - 154 - 60 mins
Mash out - 1.5 gals boiling - 10 min
Sparg water - 170 - 5 gals
Hops
60 min Warrior 1.0oz (16.7%A - 4.3%B)
45 min Chinook 1.0oz (11.1%A - 3.1%B)
15 min whrilfloc
15 min Centennial .5oz (8.7%A - 5.0%B)
5 min Cascade .5oz (6.2%A - 6.2B)
dry hop secondary Cascade 1.0oz (6.2%A - 6.2%B)
Yeast - Nottingham Danstar - hydrated
OG 1.052
FG 1.008
5.9% ABV
Tasting notes:
A bit bitter @ 2 weeks in bottles
Very tasty @ about 3 1/2 weeks bottles
Quite clear, low sediment
