I was going to add a little gypsum to my water, but I forgot. Since it's meant to help bring out the hops is it ok to add now before I boil, I'm already sparging? If not it's not a big deal.
I use gypsum for my IPAs for bitterness and always add to boil. Guess it depends what your using it for. I use it for bitterness.
Sure, that's fine. Yeast need calcium for health, and the sulfate will make the hops bitterness more pronounced.
Assuming you didn't need that calcium in the mash to help depress the pH, adding gypsum directly to the boil is OK.
