I've read over and over that oak chips can be used in the secondary. I have some chips that are from chardonney and merlot wine barrels. I was thinking of adding the merlot chips into the secondary down the line. Has anyone ever used them before in a stout? And if so, how did it turn out vs. using just oak chips? :mug:
