O2 caps go bad?

Just wondering, I know that the benefits of O2 absorbing caps have been debated, so I don't really want to get into that debate... So I am wondering will an open package of caps go bad????

The technical data out there says the caps do not activate until they are submerged in liquid and even then the reaction of oxygen absorption in slow and takes 24+ hours until the liner is exhausted.

I don't take any chances, I seal the unused ones with a vacuum sealer! So far so good.

So as long as I keep them dry I could order a couple hundred and not have to worry about them going bad
